A House Built on Sand? How can psychedelic therapy avoid repeating psychiatry’s historic mistakes?
An interrogation of psychedelic therapy through the lens of critical psychiatry. At this pivotal moment in psychedelics research, we have an opportunity to stop, look around, and audit the stories that the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic industries tell; about why we suffer and what helps. Which stories should we keep? Which should be leave behind? Which serve the interests of industry better than they serve sufferers themselves? Drawing on her interviews with many leading voices in mental health and psychedelics, Rose will explore the problem of healer hubris, the scientific dubiousness of the diagnostic system, and trauma as a new reductionism.
