Prince of Wales Road, Exeter EX4 4QJ
The centrepiece of main Streatham Campus of the University of Exeter is the stunning Forum, which provides the Student Services Centre, a modern 24/7 library, technology-rich learning spaces, a 400-seat lecture theatre, the University’s reception, and retail and catering outlets.
In 2018, the university added student hubs – a collection of accessible spaces across campus where you can eat, socialise and study. Breaking Convention will be making use of these main spaces, and delegates will have access to stay in university accommodation and make full use of the space during the conference.
The Exeter city centre is only a 15-minute walk away so you can enjoy the advantages of both the campus and highlights of the county town of Devon.
The University of Exeter's Streatham Campus is acknowledged as the most beautiful and botanically interesting of any UK University. Streatham Campus is described by The Times as the 'best-gardened campus in Britain' and by The Independent as having a 'sublime' setting. The horticultural highlights of the campus are here.
The University of Exeter Streatham Campus is on a hilltop very close to the centre of Exeter. The city has many hotels and other accommodation options from budget to luxury, and it's easy to commute each day in a matter of minutes. There is on-campus accommodation available. These are small double rooms with en suite bathrooms including breakfast, which are a 5 minute walk to where the conference is taking place. They are available for all attendees on a first come first served basis. You will be provided with the link to these rooms once you have purchased your conference ticket. Holland Hall rooms are not managed by Breaking Convention. If you have a query about a Holland Hall booking, please click here to contact Event Exeter.
The entire venue is wheelchair accessible, as is the on-site accommodation. Lecture theatres have hearing loops installed. The front row of all lecture rooms will be reserved for those requiring seating near to the speakers. If you have any accessibility needs, please contact us in advance to see how we can assist your attendance. Our Accessibility Officer Rosalind Roux is on hand to help with your needs in the run up and during the event; please contact her here. Accompanying carers and personal assistants are welcome to attend for a small administration fee.
We advise you to use public transport to reach the University of Exeter. Whether you choose planes, trains, automobiles or coaches, Exeter is only 150 miles southwest of London, and can be reached by direct transport links from the capital, as well as from Bristol (which also has an airport).
