Nikki Wyrd is a director of the charity which runs Europe’s largest psychedelic conference, Breaking Convention, and is deeply involved in the conference planning. She was the editor of the Psychedelic Press Journal, runs The Universe Machine publishing house, and also works as a freelance editor for books and academic papers related to psychedelics, occultism, anthropology, and medicine.
Nikki holds a BSc in Ecology from UEA. Her PhD research into soil carbon and temperate alley cropping systems was sadly cut short by illness. She has hosted numerous events and retreats in many countries, mostly based around somatic esoteric practices. She owes her surname to the all female punk band PMT which she played bass guitar in for 9 years. Nikki is the proud mother of two grown up daughters, and lives in Norwich. She actively encourages humans to reconsider how they can live in harmony with other organisms, and enjoys dancing to psytrance.
