Melissa Artemis Shemanna is an accomplished Australian artist, gallery curator, art foundation initiator and explorer of the mystical, esoteric, Yogic and occult realms. Her work is driven by a profound spiritual connection to the magical and numinous nature of being and a lifelong passion for unveiling mysteries and traditional esoteric knowledge. As a Medicine woman and custodian of ancient wisdom, Melissa honours the totemic lineage of the Honeybee Dreaming Priestess, embodying an oracular presence through her artworks, which channel esoteric knowledge, alive with myth and magic.
Melissa began oil painting and exploring esoteric practices in early childhood, refining her skills under mentors from the Ernst Fuchs visionary/surrealist lineage originating in Vienna. Initiated by various teacher’s and mentors into Yogic, Tantric, and the 13 Moon sacred blood mysteries, she is a lifelong devotee of the magical arts. Her art practice focuses on traditional oils and tempera, using multiple glazed layers to create luminous refracted colours. In 1995, Melissa founded OMNICULTURE Arts Initiative in Sydney, Australia. In 2018 Melbourne, she established The Honeybee Temple Arts Pollinator (an NGO Arts Foundation), curating international galleries for transformative arts festivals worldwide and presenting esoteric, magical, and pan-visionary arts events.
