Three years into her abstinence-based recovery program, Anne encountered psychedelics and discovered PIR (Psychedelics in Recovery). This marked the beginning of a transformative spiritual journey of self-healing and recovery, opening doors she never imagined. Her path led her to the Amazon, where she immersed herself in deeper exploration, eventually finding herself at the forefront of psychedelic research at Imperial College as a consultant on the Psilopioid clinical trial.
A psychedelic journey to Recovery and Individuation
On the road to recovery, I was called to psychedelics and discovered PIR, Psychedelics in Recovery a fellowship of people who integrate psychedelics and plant medicine in their 12 step based recovery program, thus starting a journey of Individuation. Starting with a microdose approach that allowed me to lift the shame and guilt, I broke free from the repetitive loop of addiction to reach a spiritual awakening thanks to ceremonies of psilocybin and a life changing trip to the Amazon. Psychedelics opened me up spiritually and emotionally and allowed me to be in touch with myself as a fragment of the universe and not being so isolated, alone and detached. The antidote to addiction is connection and Psychedelics certainly have provided that bridge to life on life’s term.
